Gotcha Day!

At 4:30 pm today, God brought us together as family. Mia was such a brave little girl walking in to meet us. There were many tears and fearful eyes seeing so many unknowns. Minutes were spent just holding and talking softly to her as we watched and waited for her to sense peace. She has already been introduced to princess gummies and stickers, a must have for every little girl. Ahnna, Abigail, and Addie were precious to watch as they all became big sisters. Addie has even announced, "I am not the youngest anymore." In our room tonight, we have all been heartbroken as we have watched little Mia's world fall apart. All she has ever known has been taken away and now those aches are being filled with unfamiliar faces and unfamiliar voices. We removed one thick winter coat, one hat, four layers of pants, four layers of shirts, and two pairs of socks and discovered quite a tiny little girl. Very quickly we had to hide these clothes as it was hard for her to let go. Over and over she has pointed to the door and called "mama." It's been so hard to watch and listen to, but as we've held her we've prayed unfamiliar faces and unfamiliar voices would become less frightening and a comfort to her little broken heart. We've learned she was fostered by an elderly couple who loved her very much. We know they are sad tonight as there is someone missing in their home. Please pray with us that these people would be comforted and that somehow God would use this as a tool to reach them with His love. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. It's been a big day, a day that we shared together as family. Goodnight from Guiyang.
